Omnibus was created out of the second annual GiveBackHack, a weekend-long hackathon for social entrepreneurship. At the event, teams of total strangers form around the ideas that garner the most votes. I joined the team, originally "Ride CBUS", to create a better way to use the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) bus transit system in Columbus.
Over the weekend, our idea pivoted to real-time bus tracking (thanks to lean startup methodologies). I worked throughout the weekend to create a UX/UI based on our ever-changing idea. On Sunday afternoon, I began to animate the UI to create a demo video (seen above). At the team presentations, we showed a great business plan, a working demo of bus tracking, and my video.
We took 1st place out of 12 teams, winning $5,000 in seed money and many other great opportunities.
Below you can find shots of the iOS and watchOS UI.
